Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Redmond, WA, seeks an SMT Specialist for the 2nd shift to join a fast-moving avionics production team dedicated to Starlink-scale speed and quality. You will manage and maintain SMT equipment, train technicians, and drive process improvements across setup, programming, fixtures, DOE, testing, and production handoffs.

The role requires a high school diploma (or 2+ years SMT/PCBA experience) or a bachelor’s degree, with shift hours 3:30 PM–1:30 AM and lifting 25

Qualifications

• 2+ years SMT/PCBA process engineering experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or science.
• Preferred experience with J-STD-001 Class 2 or IPC-A-610 Class 2 hardware.
• Experience optimizing SMT equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Execute new product introduction builds across all work centers.
• Program, load, and operate automated SMT equipment.
• Train technicians to operate complex machines.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities for yield and cost.
• Define maintenance schedules and support activities.
• Develop fixtures and DOE to optimize SMT processes.
