Great Lakes Cheese seeks a Slurry Helper to support the Slurry Operator in maintaining the proper blend of dry ingredients for cheese production in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In this entry-level role you will read blend sheets, keep lines ready, monitor quality, operate handheld scanners, and assist with clean-up and safety procedures while supporting coworkers to maintain smooth blender operation.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to follow instructions, communicate well, and adapt quickly

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read production schedules and plan the workday.
• Self-motivated with limited supervision and good time management.
• Ability to operate a handheld computer/scanner.
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Read blend sheets and follow instructions to standardize blending.
• Follow production orders for groups.
• Ensure sample cups are available near blenders.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in work areas.
• Notify supervisor of any quality or process issues.
• Assist in training new employees when requested.
• Complete paperwork with production line numbers and products run.
