Job summary

Kloeckner Metals Corporation is seeking a slitting line operator for the 2nd shift (1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.) with overtime as needed. You will set up, operate, and perform basic programming of a slitting machine while maintaining safety and quality throughout the process.

Responsibilities include reading work orders, adjusting machines, inspecting material quality, and performing routine maintenance to keep production on schedule. A HS diploma and 1–2 years in production are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years in a production environment; metals industry preferred.
• Ability to work overtime, sometimes with short notice.
• Proficiency reading measuring devices.
• Basic math skills for measurement/calculations.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to pass a physical exam (vision, hearing, mobility).
• Reliable work history with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Machine Setup: read orders and adjust for lengths per templates.
• Operation: start machine and monitor for defects or malfunctions.
• Quality Control: measure dimensions and ensure spec compliance.
• Maintenance: perform routine upkeep and minor repairs.
• Additional Duties: support production goals as needed.
