Blair Image Elements in Altoona, PA is seeking an in-person, hourly painting team member to produce high-quality signage. You will read prints, mix colors, apply coatings, and ensure finishes meet print specifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints/prints, or learn to read them.
• Ability to follow instructions and work quickly, maintaining quality standards.
• Basic math skills - able to accurately read a tape measure.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Comfortable around paints and solvents, respirator provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• High degree of dependability and regular schedule, with overtime as needed.
• Reliable team player eager to contribute.
• Prior painting or spray equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Paint prepared signs and sign components using hand application spray equipment.
• Read and work from prints, painting materials to specification.
• Mix and match paint colors, and load spray equipment for daily work.
• Mask signs for multiple color paint applications.
• Prime steel and other substrates to prevent rust and ensure durability.
• Work with epoxies, enamels, and urethanes.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on spray guns and spray booths.
• Log jobs, clock production hours, and check the production scheduler.
• Check quality of work against print specifications before and after painting.
