Job summary

Pro Resources Staffing Services is seeking a 2nd Shift Shipping / Receiving Handler in Indiana for a plant-based role. Hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with reporting 15 minutes early and staying 15 minutes after shift for changeovers. Pay is $19.33 per hour.

Responsibilities include preparing, shipping, receiving materials, counting and weighing items, and ensuring shipments meet specs. Forklift and clamp-truck operation are required; the plant offers training.

Qualifications

• Forklift and clamp-truck operation is required; in-company training provided.
• Must be able to lift/move 40 pounds or more.
• Primarily standing and walking for most of the shift (about 95%).
• Wears safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses/side shields.
• Plant temperatures range from 55°F to 100°F with short oven-related spikes.
• Noise levels up to 94 dB.

• Check incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and records.
• Count, weigh, and measure materials.
• Determine the appropriate shipping method and apply labels to cartons and containers.
• Unpack shipments and inspect for damage or shortages; report issues.
• Route materials to the proper departments and inspect outgoing shipments for specs.
• Maintain shipping supplies and operate forklifts/tier lift to move materials.
• Assist with material handling throughout the plant and perform cleanups.

Key duties include:

• Checking incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
• Counting, weighing, and measuring materials.
• Determining the appropriate shipping method.
• Applying shipping labels and identifying information to cartons, crates, and containers.
• Unpacking incoming shipments and checking for damage or shortages.
• Reporting damaged or missing materials to the appropriate parties.
• Routing materials to the proper departments.
• Inspecting outgoing shipments to make sure they meet specifications.
• Maintaining supplies used for shipping.
• Operating a forklift/tier lift truck and clamp truck to move materials between shipping/receiving, storage, and production areas.
• Assisting with material handling throughout the plant.
• Performing regular cleanup duties.

Requirements and working conditions

• Forklift and clamp-truck operation is required; provides an in-company forklift training program.
• Must be able to lift/move 40 pounds or more.
• Requires a high level of attention to operate powered industrial trucks safely.
• Work is primarily standing and walking (about 95% of the time).
• Safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses/side shields are required.
• The plant can reach temperatures from approximately 55°F to 100°F, with higher temperatures near ovens for short periods.
• Noise levels can reach 94 dB.
