Job summary

Pelton Shepherd Industries in Columbus, OH is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support our fast-paced warehouse operations. You will help receive materials, stage shipments, and maintain accurate inventory while following safety procedures.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to multitask, and comfortable using warehouse systems and scanners. You will work with a collaborative team to ensure on-time delivery and order accuracy in a growing logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free warehouse environment.
• Prepare and stage outgoing shipments (LTL, UPS, and truckload).
• Stretch wrap, label, and organize pallets for shipment.
• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
• Verify product accuracy against shipping documents.
• Complete freight logs, quality checks, and receiving documentation.
• Ensure all shipments are approved prior to release.
• Store raw materials and finished goods in proper locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse (including routine cleaning).
• Pull materials for production as needed.
• Perform inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Inspect warehouse equipment and report any issues.
• Use warehouse management systems and handheld scanners for tracking.
• Maintain documentation for equipment and inventory.

What You’ll Do

Safety First

• Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the shiftAbility to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to push/pull up to 75-100 lbs (with equipment assistance)
• Frequent reaching, bending, and handling tasks
