Job summary

The Missouri Botanical Garden is seeking a full-time, unarmed Security Officer to protect staff, visitors and property across the grounds, buildings and parking areas. The role involves patrolling outdoors in all weather and responding to incidents with a calm, safety-first approach.

Expect a rotating monthly schedule, holiday work with pay, and benefits including medical/dental/vision, holidays, paid time off, and a retirement plan with matching contributions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a security guard; public venue experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Garden security license (St. Louis City/County) within 2 months of hire.
• Ability to pass background screening and motor vehicle report (MVR) as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible security presence and customer service to staff, visitors and volunteers.
• Patrol grounds, buildings, and parking areas; respond to alarms and incidents.
• Monitor surveillance systems and security phone lines; document daily activities.
• Act as First Responder to medical emergencies and provide First Aid/CPR/AED as needed.
