Job summary

Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis is seeking a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for 1st shift to protect visitors and staff across facilities and grounds.

The role requires patrolling, responding to incidents, operating surveillance, and providing First Aid/CPR/AED when needed. A valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks are required; holidays and outdoor work are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a security guard; public venue experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security officer's licenses within 2 months of hire date.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 2 months of hire and renew annually.
• Excellent time management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Works with the general public and provides customer service to visitors, volunteers and employees.
• Patrols premises and conducts ground inspections on foot and using Garden vehicles.
• Acts as First Responder to medical emergencies, administers First Aid/CPR/AED as needed.
• Monitors surveillance cameras and HVAC systems.
• Respond to alarms in a timely manner.
• Submits daily activity reports, using computer programs.
• Identifies safety concerns.
