Job summary

Plymouth Public Schools Federal Furnace Elementary School in Plymouth, Massachusetts seeks a 2nd Shift Custodian to ensure a clean, safe, and functional environment for students and staff. Starts immediately; typical duties include cleaning, maintenance, and assisting with building systems as trained.

Qualifications preferred include custodial experience and knowledge of boilers/HVAC and related systems. The role requires physical stamina and ability to work evenings with appropriate district

Qualifications

• Experience in the custodial trade preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers/HVAC and fire alarm systems with district training.
• Ability to perform physically demanding custodial duties.
• Medical health certificate required.
• Able to complete trainings including OSHA.
• Polite and friendly interaction with staff, students, and community.
• Knowledge of SchoolDude work order system preferred.
• Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the School Department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure routine cleanliness, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting during the shift.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks such as floor finishing, window cleaning and furniture care.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hand and power tools used in custodial work.
• Keep sidewalks, driveways and play areas clean and safe.
• Climb ladders up to 20 feet, operate scaffolding and aerial lifts with training.
• Assist in operation of building systems (boilers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire systems).
• Maintain equipment and a safe work area.
• Understand occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Meet physical and environmental demands of the job.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
