Job summary

Adair County School District is seeking a qualified custodian to perform routine custodial activities at Adair County High School in Columbia, Kentucky. The role covers buildings, locker rooms and adjacent grounds to keep them clean, orderly, and secure.

It is a 2nd shift position from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM for 9 months, with duties across classrooms, restrooms, gym, cafeteria, and offices. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of custodial methods and safety practices, and be able to operate

Responsibilities

Perform routine custodial duties at assigned school site; sweep, scrub, mop, wax and polish floors and vacuum rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops and other areas.
Clean classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria and offices; monitor and maintain orderly conditions.
Disinfect drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, showers and urinals; keep mirrors and windows clean.
Maintain security of buildings; report hazards and needed repairs to appropriate authority.
Move furniture and equipment for classrooms and events; prepare rooms for activities.
Lock/unlock doors and gates; turn alarm system on/off as required.
Order and stock supplies according to guidelines; manage trash/disposal procedures.
Respond to emergency cleanups and participate in major summer cleaning projects.
