Job summary

Unionville-Chadds Ford School District is seeking a Custodian for the 2nd shift, covering multiple schools. The role runs 8 hours per day across a 12-month period with benefits eligibility and a starting wage of $17.69 per hour.

The position requires basic reading/writing, basic computer and tool skills, physical stamina, teamwork and a willingness to perform minor repairs and assist with events. Availability for overtime and snow removal is expected.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and listening skills incl. verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer skills for work orders, supply orders, email and basic apps.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and cleaning.
• Ability to work with people in a positive, enthusiastic manner.
• Aptitude, physical stamina and good moral character.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas per supervisor instructions (strip/wax, mop, buff, vacuum, etc.).
• Unlock/lock building and monitor security of facilities.
• Assist with events and activities as needed.
• Receive, store and inventory supplies; assemble and deliver furniture.
• Perform minor repairs with hand tools and report needed fixes.
• Help departments, PTO and outside groups; monitor facility use.
• Work overtime as needed for snow removal and salting; assist with dismissal.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.
