Job summary

Misfits Market is seeking a Sanitation Associate to support the Sanitation Department. You will help keep all areas clean and sanitary to ensure safety for our team and customers. Schedule: Saturday–Wednesday with shifts listed.

Compensation is $16/hr along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k), a grocery box credit, life insurance, paid vacation, holidays and sick days. The ideal candidate is authorized to work in the United States and has experience in food

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience in a food distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (36 degrees).
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments per instructions.
• Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with all safety policies, GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA standards.
• Perform sanitation- and hygiene-related duties as assigned.
• Monitor chemical dilution of detergents and sanitizers.
• Address hazards in the FC and escalate as needed.
• Log donations and assist with disposal of damaged items.
• Maintain a safe, clean warehouse and proper storage.
• Monitor sanitation inventory and coordinate with Maintenance Tech for reorders.
• Use computers or tablets for record-keeping and training.
• Support Operations with various duties as needed.

The Sanitation associate will assist with the day-to-day operations within the Sanitation Department. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all parts of the facility are cleaned and in sanitary condition for the safety of our team and our customers.

Schedule: Saturday- Wednesday.

• Saturday 8 am-4:30 pm
• Sunday 5 pm- 1:30 am
• Monday 5 pm-1:30 am
• Tuesday 5 pm-1:30 am
• Wednesday 5 pm- 1:30 am

What you will do:

• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedure,s including food safety rules, safe handling of materials, and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Perform sanitation- and hygiene-related duties as assigned by Maintenance Tech using approved cleaning procedures and practices.
• Monitor chemical dilution of detergents and food contact sanitizers..
• Proactively assess and address hazards in the FC such as puddles, unclean food surfaces, and waste build-up. Escalate any sanitation issues to the Maintenance Tech.
• Prepare and log donations for our donation partners.
• Assist with logging and appropriately disposing of damaged items.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized warehouse environment, including proper storage of products and adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor and maintain sanitation inventory levels, partnering with the Maintenance Tech for reorders.
• May use computers or tablets for record-keeping, communication, and training.
• Support Operations with different duties as needed.

Who you are:

• Authorized to work in the United States
• Experience in a food distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (36 degrees).
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal communication

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Sedentary work; involves sitting some of the time
• Standing desks and/or other ergonomic accommodation is available upon request
• Occasional movement around the office may be necessary
• Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens
• Regular use of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets
• Able to work in cold temperatures in a refrigerated environment
