Robotic Polisher

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Shift: 2nd shift

Pay Range: $30 - $33.50 per hour. (2nd shift receives a $3.00 shift premium.)

Job Function and Scope

The robotic polishing cell operator receives castings from the Machine Shop and processes them through the polishing robot before moving these parts to Inspection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Load and unload multiple belting and buffing robots.
2. Operate all the mechanical and control functions of the cells, including:
   • Installing, monitoring and replacing abrasive belts.
   • Installing, monitoring and replacing buff wheels.
   • Initiating and downloading polishing & buffing programs, including physical changeover and setup of the work cell.
   • Basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of the programs and mechanical systems to support proper operation of the work cell.
   • Maintaining liquid and solid buffing compounds.
3. Inspect each casting after belting and buffing; use a manual wheel to make corrections so that the parts are of acceptable quality to plate.
4. Fanuc robotic tool handling.
5. Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent, and 3-5 years polishing shop experience as a polisher or buffer are required.
• Visual acuity is required.

• Operator must be able to support the work cell in order to achieve and maintain prescribed production and quality rates.
