Job summary

American Trim in Ohio is seeking Robotic Polishing Operators to set up and run automated polishing cells for manufactured components. Training of 2–4 weeks on 1st or 3rd shift is available, with a 2nd shift schedule 1:55 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday-Friday and overtime as needed.

Base pay starts at $19.30 per hour, with an additional $1.50 per hour shift differential on 2nd shift. Benefits start after 91 days and include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with company match and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or machine-operator experience preferred.
  • HS diploma or GED preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work instructions.
  • Willingness to complete 2–4 weeks of training on 1st or 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and monitor automated/robotic polishing equipment according to established procedures.
  • Complete product and equipment changeovers, including buff changes and tools.
  • Deburr outside edges of parts as required.
  • Perform required quality inspections before production and after processing.
  • Monitor production and complete required documentation.
  • Organize tools and materials for efficient changeovers.
  • Identify production, equipment and quality concerns and report them.
  • Follow safety and PPE procedures and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

American Trim is seeking Robotic Polishing Operators to operate specialized automated equipment used to polish and finish manufactured components.

This hands‑on position is a great opportunity for someone with manufacturing or machine operating experience who has mechanical aptitude and enjoys working with automated equipment.

Schedule & Pay

2nd Shift: 1:55 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday-Friday

All shifts include overtime as needed. Scheduled hours may flex based on operational needs.

Training Requirement: Candidates must be willing and able to complete approximately 2-4 weeks of training on 1st or 3rd shift, depending on training availability.

Base Pay: $19.30+ per hour, depending on experience
Shift Differential: Additional $1.50 per hour for 2nd shift

Job Summary

The Robotic Polishing Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating and monitoring automated polishing work cells while maintaining established quality and productivity requirements.

  • Set up, operate and monitor automated/robotic polishing equipment according to established procedures.
  • Complete product and equipment changeovers, including changing polishing buffs, compound and applicable tooling or process components.
  • Deburr outside edges of parts as required.
  • Perform required quality inspections before production and after final processing.
  • Monitor production performance and complete required production documentation.
  • Organize tools, equipment and materials to support efficient product changeovers.
  • Identify and communicate production, equipment and quality concerns to supervision and appropriate support personnel, including relevant information between shifts.
  • Follow established safety, environmental and operating procedures, including applicable JSA, ESA, ASA and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Previous manufacturing, machine operating, automated equipment or related production experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work within established production schedules and rates.
  • Ability to inspect parts and identify visual quality concerns.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a production team.
  • Must be willing and able to complete approximately 2-4 weeks of training on 1st or 3rd shift.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:

  • Stand, walk and move throughout the production area for extended periods.
  • Bend, reach, turn and perform repetitive movements associated with equipment operation and material handling.
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on a non-repetitive basis.
  • Push, pull or position polishing compound drums as required.
  • Perform work requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and close visual attention.
  • Work around automated/robotic equipment and other industrial machinery.
  • Work in an environment where polishing dust may be present.
  • Wear required PPE, including eye, hearing and foot protection, Kevlar sleeves/gloves, cut-resistant gloves and other protective equipment as required.
  • Work weekday and weekend overtime and adjusted hours as required by operational needs.

This position requires company forklift certification. Employees must successfully complete a drug screening as part of the initial certification process and any required recertification process, in accordance with company policy.
