Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company in Romeoville, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Technician to support production with hands-on inspection, PPAPs, GD&T, and continuous improvement. Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or related field.
• 2+ years of quality or manufacturing experience.
• Strong PPAP and new-part implementation knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers and portable CMM).
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop quality documentation and inspection processes for parts.
• Create process inspection sheets and balloon drawings for inspections.
• Support PPAPs, PFMEAs, process flows, and control plans.
• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections to verify specs.
• Read and interpret drawings and GD&T; use a portable CMM.
• Inspect outsourced parts and document nonconformities.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and improvements.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment; ensure safety/quality.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
