Job Description:

Position Title: Quality Technician

Reports to: Quality Supervisor

Position Purpose: The Quality Technician ensures quality goals are met through operational and analytical focus, attention to detail, defect detection, and corrective/preventive actions, working closely with the production department. This fast-paced role involves walking, standing, and multitasking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain key indicators of product quality and safety through inspection, testing, and communication.
• Promote maintenance of food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, allergen control, ingredient control, GMPs, document control, traceability, product quality reviews, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Report deviations in quality processes to the Quality Supervisor.
• Develop a hands-on understanding of plant processes and collaborate with team members to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
• Ensure plant procedures align with quality policies and SQF standards.
• Conduct testing and inspections according to plant procedures and specifications.
• Support the maintenance of SQF certification.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of quality systems ensuring food safety and quality.
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computing.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• At least 1 year of experience in quality systems within the industry.
• Two-year or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred.
• Experience with basic laboratory equipment (scales, thermometers, calipers, analyzers).
