Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM), Monday through Friday, at our Walker, MI plant. You will monitor and measure manufactured parts, verify first-piece approvals, and support containment to prevent shipments of nonconforming product.

The role requires basic quality tools proficiency and the ability to read and follow instructions precisely.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of quality experience.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job duties and safety.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lb.
• Must be 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and weekly production support activities to meet plant requirements.
• Inspect and gauge raw or welded parts to customer specifications.
• Verify first-piece inspection and approvals according to the company's process.
• Support containment and quality processes to prevent defective parts.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Cross-train on multiple work centers as needed.
• Complete paperwork and documentation accurately.
• Meet daily production targets.
