Job summary

Newly Weds Foods in Mount Pleasant, TX is seeking a Quality Control Technician in the QC department for the 2nd shift (3:00pm – 11:00pm). The role ensures our finished products meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates finished products for quality and acceptability and follows product specifications.
• Reports quality issues to Production Supervisors, Production Managers, QC Manager & Supervisor and shipping and customer service staff.
• Logs analysis results and batch information in the I-Series (AS400) and maintains analysis records and documents necessary for documentation compliance.
• Monitors line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Performs GMP audits of metal detectors, magnets, scales and critical control points.
• Assists in foreign material and non-conformance investigations.
• Performs batch set-up checks and logs discrepancies.
• Places product on hold and releases when appropriate.
• Rejects product and documents root cause and corrective actions.
• Checks allergens clean out effectiveness.
• Performs pre – Op audits during maintenance.
• Performs production scale checks and lab equipment calibration per schedule.
• Collects micro samples and places micro hold products.
• Performs special tasks as assigned by QC manager.
• Maintains retain sample area and control sample file.
• Follows GMP and Safety Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
