Job summary

New Weds Foods is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure quality and safety on all finished products. The role requires evaluating product quality, logging results, and supporting GMP and safety procedures.

The position involves monitoring line equipment, performing audits, and assisting in investigations of non-conformances, with duties ranging from batch setup to hold/reject processes. Strong English and basic math are required.

Qualifications

• HS or GED required with 1-2 years related work experience.
• Ability to use quality control analysis equipment.
• Mathematical skills are required.
• Computer skills and data processing abilities are required.
• Able to climb ladders to work platforms and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates finished products for quality and acceptability per specs.
• Communicates quality issues to Production Supervisors, Managers, QC staff, and shipping/customer service.
• Logs analysis test results and batch information in I-Series; maintains records.
• Monitors line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.
• Checks metal detectors, magnets, scales; conducts CCP and GMP audits.
• Assists in foreign material and non-conformance investigations.
• Performs batch set-up checks and logs discrepancies.
• Places product on hold and releases when appropriate.
• Rejects product and completes rejection forms with root cause and corrective actions.
• Checks allergens clean-out effectiveness as needed.
• Performs pre-op audits and production scale checks; calibrates lab equipment.
• Collects micro samples and handles micro-hold products.
• Performs special tasks as assigned and maintains sample areas.
• Follows GMPs and safety procedures.
