Job summary

ACH Food Companies, Inc. in Summit, IL is seeking a Quality Control Technician for 2nd shift to conduct routine and non-routine tests on in-process samples, finished products, ingredients, and supplies. The role includes data entry, equipment maintenance, and adherence to GMP/food safety practices.

This position supports production teams, with training on 1st shift before moving to the 2nd shift. The plant runs Monday–Friday with weekend considerations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Education required.
• 1-5 years of experience in a food laboratory environment.
• High level of formal training on laboratory procedures or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with production processes and procedures.
• In depth knowledge of laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and non-routine tests on in-process samples, finished product, ingredients and manufacturing supplies.
• Performs special tests and projects related to the operation as required.
• Uses, maintains, troubleshoots, and does minor repairs on standard laboratory apparatus for performing routine and non-routine analyses.
• Enters data into computer for maintaining permanent records and reports.
• Follows inventory of chemicals and equipment and orders replacements or repairs.
