PurposeBuilt Brands in Gurnee, IL is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to ensure that finished products and raw materials meet quality control requirements. This role interacts with production, purchasing and shipping teams.

You will inspect raw materials and outsourced products, document defects, verify filling line readiness, and assess finished goods based on weight, seals, color, odor, lot numbers and appearance. Hours are Mon–Fri, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods while performing tasks.
• Strong math, communication, and attention to detail are essential.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the quality of raw materials and outsourced products for incoming inspection.
• Document defects and communicate quality issues to supply chain for resolution.
• Check filling line before production to ensure previous materials removed, line cleaned, and correct packaging used.
• Inspect finished products for fill weight, heat seal, color, odor, lot number, torque, appearance, and pallet configurations.
• Document quality findings and review daily production batch records.
• Archive quality documents and train production personnel on procedures.
• Collaborate with production to resolve quality issues and perform first-run inspections.

Quality Control Inspector

The Role

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that finished products and raw materials meet quality control requirements. This position interacts with the production, purchasing, and shipping departments.

What You Will Do

• Inspect the quality of the raw materials & outsourced products that require incoming inspection
• Document defective raw material & outsourced product findings and communicate quality issues to the supply chain, working to resolve the quality issue
• Check the filling line before each production run to ensure that:
  • All packaging materials that were used for the previous production run were removed from the filling area
  • The filling line was cleaned and validated (if required)
  • The correct type of packaging was brought to the filling line
• Inspect quality of finished products for the following:
  • Fill weight
  • Heat seal
  • Verify color and odor
  • Lot number
  • Application and removal torque
  • General appearance
  • Pallet configurations
  • Other (as required)
• Document quality control findings
• Review daily production batch records
• Archive production records and associated quality documents
• Train production personnel on quality procedures
• Work with the production department to resolve quality issues associated with finished products
• Perform detailed quality control inspection of first runs of new products

Hours: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
