Actalent is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) in Illinois. The role focuses on mechanical and visual testing of flexible packaging materials used in healthcare-related products, ensuring quality and compliance in an ISO 9001 environment.

You will perform measurements, color matching, leak and tensile tests, and maintain thorough documentation while collaborating with production and QA teams to resolve defects.

Qualifications

• Experience performing mechanical tests, visual inspections, and basic measurement activities.
• Familiarity with GMP in production or lab settings is preferred.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical tests on materials and products to verify standards.
• Conduct visual inspections and measure dimensions with rulers.
• Carry out color matching to ensure print color accuracy.
• Perform leak and tensile tests on packaging components.
• Document all tests, results, and defects per quality procedures.
• Communicate nonconformances clearly to the team and support root-cause actions.
• Maintain ISO 9001 compliant lab environment and GMP practices.
• Support production with proper documentation for outputs from machines.
• Peer collaboration with QA technicians and production staff.
