Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a QA Technician for the 2nd shift in Hattiesburg, MS. The role performs final inspections on units and processes quality documents while coordinating with factory and off-site teams to ensure compliance with drawings, BOMs, and ISO 9001 standards.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED with related experience, CQE/CQA credentials are preferred, and an Associate’s Degree in Business Management or Engineering is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 12–18 months related experience or training; degree in Business Management or Engineering desirable.
• CQE or CQA from ASQ is preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspections on complete units.
• Process NCRs, FPYs, CARs, ECRs and expedites as needed.
• Enter data in the computer as directed by QA Manager.
• Communicate problems between factory and off-site locations.
• Update visual displays and perform internal audits.
• Examine material against drawings and BOMs; verify product against specifications.
• Perform dimensional verification and prepare deviation reports for defects.
• Perform visual inspections on welds to AWS D1.1 and interpret engineering drawings.
• Assist root-cause analysis using non-conforming material data and ISO 9001 documentation.
• Cross-train in other functions as required and perform other duties as assigned.
