FLSA Status: Salaried/Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (Weekends as needed, flexibility as needed)

Travel Requirements: 0-5%

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assuring regulatory compliance, customer specifications/quality issues, food safety, and quality programs within the plant facility. This position reports directly to the Quality Supervisor of the department.

The JBS Pork team is seeking a 2ND SHIFT QA Technician.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Quality Supervisor with designated daily tasks.
2. Participate as a team member with Quality employees to review product performance, respond to questions and complaints, and work with team members to ensure yield and efficiency expectations are met.
3. Assist in planning, coordination, and direction of all quality, regulatory, and food safety programs to ensure compliance with company, governmental, and customer requirements and expectations.
4. Assist in employee management, including selection, training, development, performance management, and tracking of opportunities for yield and efficiency improvements.
5. Train and assist in cross-training of technicians and examiners.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Minimum 6 months of technical services/quality assurance, food safety, auditing, or production experience.
• Understanding of USDA requirements (HACCP). Ability to rethink and improve business processes for growth.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to provide leadership and motivate employees.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to learn and use knife skills.
• Internal applicants must have less than 2 attendance points and no warnings or suspensions in the last year.

Education, Experience, Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
• Computer skills and knowledge.
• Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements:

• Climbing stairs.
• Frequent visits to production areas, which may include environments that are hot, cold, have smells, and require PPE.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base Salary: $36,050 - $43,800
