Job summary

Butterball Farms is seeking a proactive Team Lead in Grand Rapids, MI to supervise production teams in a fast-paced meat/farm product environment. You will train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate staff while ensuring GMP and safety standards are met.

You will coordinate daily operations, manage shift coverage, and drive continuous improvements, waste reduction, and on-time production goals within a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2+ years in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Bilingual ability preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Train, mentor, supervise, and develop production team members.
• Coordinate daily operations including startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
• Oversee production line activities: work assignments, rotations, training, vacation coverage, breaks, overtime, scheduling.
• Partner with HR to support staffing needs, including interviewing and selecting candidates.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Maintain responsibility for quality control standards.
• Communicate with Team Leaders, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, HR, and management.
• Ensure accurate entry of shift paperwork into systems.
• Lead or participate in waste and cost reduction initiatives.
• Achieve production goals and meet deadlines.
• Handle conflict resolution and apply disciplinary action when necessary.
• Enforce GMP and safety policies and PPE usage.
• Provide production support when required.
