Responsibilities
- Daily supervise ferrous or non-ferrous employees.
- Approve timecards, vacation, time-off.
- Issue disciplinary action and employee counseling.
- Issue department’s work schedule.
- Responsible for ensuring staff is up to date on equipment and safety training.
- Address employee issues as they arise.
- Responsible for outbound shipments in a timely manner.
- Making sure material meets customer specifications.
- Communicate with maintenance regarding preventative maintenance and repair to mobile and stationary equipment.
- Ensure all proper PPE is in a safe working condition.
- Complete all required reports.
- Motivate and train employees.
- All other projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a supervisory role
- Working knowledge of non-ferrous metals
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve in the safest and most effective manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to be organized with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to operate a forklift, skid steer, and wheel loader
- General knowledge mechanics.
