2nd Shift Production Operator - Manufacturing

Description

Purpose

This position performs a variety of responsibilities in the production area, including operating machinery. Manufacturing floor experience is required; training will be provided on specific equipment such as centerless grinders, saws, and bar chamfering. Responsibilities also include material handling and dimensional inspections. Operates equipment to store and move products throughout the warehouse, including overhead cranes and forklifts.

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Hours: The shift is flexible after a short training shift of 11am-7pm. Actual shift time will vary within 1:00PM and 11:00PM until a full shift is staffed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment to meet customer obligations.
• Perform material movement tasks on orders being worked on.
• Safely use power equipment (overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, etc.) to move materials.
• Follow standard work procedures when operating machinery & equipment.
• Report defects or excessive wear of equipment; may perform setup and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in a production environment.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Basic measurement skills (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse concepts and practices.
• Strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Manual dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing/pulling.
• Light lifting (up to 25 lbs), heavy lifting (25-50 lbs).
• Exposure to industrial equipment and use of PPE.
