Summary

Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations within assigned production or distribution group.

Top Priorities: Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Production Goals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  2. Issue written and oral instructions.
  3. Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  4. Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency.
  5. Train new and existing employees as required.
  6. Fill all customers orders accurately and on time.
  7. Take independent actions for minor maintenance and repair of equipment.
  8. Notify Friction Center Manager if equipment is not operating properly and maintenance is required.
  9. Ensure all employees within production group adhere to Haldex Safety and Quality policies.
  10. Verify at the end of each shift that all equipment is properly shut down, housekeeping has been performed, and other shift-ending activities are completed.
  11. Complete daily reports accurately as required by Friction Center Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Lead employees by example through supporting company policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
  • High mechanical and industrial experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective speaking skills for groups of employees.
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rate, ratio, percent, volume.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands

Must meet physical requirements to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations provided if needed. Regularly required to stand, walk, handle, reach; occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Must frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock risk, and vibration. Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions and toxic chemicals. Noise level is usually very loud.
