Job summary

AMETEK AMC in Jackson, MN is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Lead to assist the Production Supervisor in maintaining a safe, organized work environment. You will liaise with leadership, ensure procedures are followed, and contribute ideas for process improvement.

Qualifications

Job Description

The 2nd Shift Production Lead role assists the Production Supervisor in maintaining a safe and structured work environment benefiting employees and customers. Act as a liaison between the production leadership and other employees, ensuring procedures are followed, while also suggesting ideas for continued improvement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with production leadership to monitor employees, production, and resources.
  • Perform administrative tasks under the guidance of the production leadership.
  • Support production leadership personnel assignments.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement whenever possible.
  • Partner with production leadership to initiate and foster positive relationships and cooperation between employees and work groups.
  • Assist in resolving problems, monitoring progress, and reporting to production leadership.
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicators on Visual Management Boards in respective location.
  • Maintain quality output by communicating and enforcing Quality Management System polices, manual, and business processes.
  • Communicate need for equipment orders, repairs, or replacements to production leadership.
  • Support production inquiries and redirect to production leadership as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment per Safety policies and training guidelines.
  • Consistently follow and enforce all policies and procedures.
  • Provide employee performance feedback to production leadership to assist in ongoing growth and development.
  • Provide ongoing training to employees as directed by the production leadership.
  • Participate in ongoing training to continuously develop production competencies and professional growth.
  • Complete production process work and other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Consideration
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, such as shop packet, standard work instructions, and various visual aids.
  • Ability to use basic math and measuring devices.
  • Ability to handle and assemble small components using a microscope for extended periods of time.
  • Good manual dexterity is helpful.
  • Good time management to work at a good pace, executing word orders and demands.
  • Ability to handle basic tools.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
