Objectives:
Lead and coordinate the activities of associates engaged in manufacturing processes of production
Uphold the Merit Brass fundamentals, acting with a sense of urgency and upholding the core values as published
Maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful attitude while exercising teamwork to achieve a published goal
Responsibilities
Demonstrates a commitment to associate engagement, personal responsibility, and accountability for the associate’s safety & knowledge progression
Meet with leadership daily to determine workflow; material movement, work assignments, reviewing previous daily, weekly, and monthly performance, both at the individual and departmental level
Responsible for training, feedback, coaching, mentoring, and development of each associate
Responsible for achieving current departmental KPI’s and working with leadership to determine future departmental goals as current ones become sustainable
Serves as a resource and content expert to team members, providing them with guidance and being available to answer questions to clarify the work activities
Relates all new or revised procedures and /or processes to team members to ensure the most up-to-date and current information is being used
Review production entries (Calculate/Approve/Transfer) as needed
Strives to achieve Merit Brass production metrics, including reduced errors, increased on-time delivery, accuracy, and serviceability (internal & external)
Support Merit Brass by actively listening to any suggestions, concerns, or opportunities of associates
Ensures work areas and production processes conform to safety requirements and are hazard‑free
Works with supervision to identify, establish, and modify department operational methods and procedures, with an effort to continuously improve our processes
Expectation of performing set‑up and changeovers within the department
Willingness and ability to work overtime or modified schedule as needed
Be the backup to the Supervisor when they are not available
Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Ownership of the processes, and accountable for outputs of the department & project deadlines
Ability to communicate at all levels and with all departments within the company (manufacturing, shipping/receiving, purchasing, sales, etc.)

Knowledge of Merit Safety standard
Knowledge of basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, and RF Scanning
Able to stand, reach, bend, push, and pull bulky material for the entire shift and capable of lifting 50-70 lbs. frequently
