Job Summary

The successful candidate will convert raw materials by printing, coating, or laminating to meet quality standards, handling raw products like paper, Tyvek, or films based on customer specifications. The Press Operator will follow OHSE and Quality Systems to maintain safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Monitor product quality during runs
• Optimize raw material use to reduce waste
• Set up machines, change inks, coatings, configurations, decks, paper, and methods as needed
• Inspect and adjust quality during operation
• Inspect raw materials for coating weights, seal strengths, and porosity
• Maintain machinery, including cleaning and adjustments
• Change doctor blades and make necessary adjustments
• Perform daily maintenance tasks
• Mount prepress plates
• Use measuring tools accurately
• Supervise the Press Assistant and assist with cleanup and prepress activities
• Maintain production paperwork and reports
• Troubleshoot issues
• Assist with mounting and maintenance tasks
• Keep work area clean and organized

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of flexographic press experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and technical documents
• Work well under pressure with good communication skills
• Strong math skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with computers
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Skills

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and manuals; present information clearly; solve practical problems; and perform physical tasks as described.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise; occasional exposure to chemicals, heights, and outdoor conditions. Reasonable accommodations available.
