Job summary

APX is a leader in metal manufacturing including enclosures, custom fabrication, machining and coatings. The 2nd Shift Press Brake Operator safely sets up, operates, and maintains hydraulic press brake equipment to fabricate metal components per specifications.

He/she reads blueprints, performs quality checks, and records production data while working with sheet metal and forklifts. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous maintenance tasks to ensure on-time production.

Qualifications

• 2+ years press brake operating experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints required.
• Experience working with sheet metal preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills, including fraction and decimal conversions.
• Ability to use measuring instruments and inspection tools accurately.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work and occasional weekends.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic press brake equipment.
• Perform mechanical die changes efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production specifications.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and measurements.
• Perform quality checks including measurements, weight, density, and dimensional verification using measuring tools and calculations.
• Complete routine preventive maintenance tasks, including fluid checks and machine cleanups.
• Accurately record production data including piece counts, downtime, and completion times.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
• Maintain consistent production output while meeting safety and quality expectations.
• Assist with general production and assembly tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
