Job description

Starting at $21.95 per hour. This position is eligible for a 90-day performance increase.

Rate after 90-days: $22.75 per hour.

Shift Differential: Additional $2.00/hr.

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Summary

Perform duties involving the bending and forming of plate and bar stock materials to specified sizes for further processing operations. Trumpf Laser experience preferred.

Essential Functions
  • Work from bills of material, blueprints, sketches and instructions from supervision.
  • Set up and prepare press brake machines by selecting and aligning dies in the machine ram.
  • Calculate bend allowances, determine proper tonnage requirements, and select the appropriate press brake machine settings.
  • Load and unload materials into the press brake machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
  • Position and secure workpieces onto the machine bed using clamps, bolts, or other fixtures.
  • Knowledge of using manual tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  • Use forklift equipment and floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Use powered shear, hand tools including hammer, wrenches, dividers, calipers, compass, tape measure, straight edge and rule.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
