Valley Cabinet is seeking a motivated and experienced Production Lead to support daily operations within our Prefinishing department. This department is responsible for preparing and finishing cabinetry products to meet quality, appearance, and customer expectations.

Job Summary: The Production Lead performs hands-on production work while serving as a lead resource within the department, supporting daily workflow, coordination, training, and operational execution. This role helps ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards while providing day-to-day guidance and support to team members. The Production Lead supports production goals, workflow organization, and process consistency.

Essential Functions:
Workflow Coordination & Production Support
  • Perform hands-on production work while balancing daily lead responsibilities.
  • Coordinate daily workflow, scheduling activities, and work priorities to support production schedules and department objectives.
  • Monitor material readiness, information, and resource availability to support efficient operations and production schedules.
  • Monitor workflow and communicate production issues, bottlenecks, or concerns to leadership.
Training & Team Support
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members.
  • Assist with onboarding and training employees on department processes, procedures, and work standards.
  • Serve as a resource for operational questions and troubleshooting.
  • Promote consistency in work methods, quality expectations, and safety practices.
Quality & Process Improvement
  • Support adherence to quality standards and department procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and process consistency.
  • Assist with implementing process improvements and best practices.
  • Help maintain accurate and consistent work practices across the department.
  • Review work requirements and identify potential issues, concerns, or resource needs before they impact production.
Safety & Organization
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and team members regarding workflow, priorities, and operational needs.
  • Serve as a department resource and point of contact for operational questions, workflow coordination, and production-related issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support efficient workflow and production objectives.
  • Assist leadership in identifying training needs, workflow challenges, and operational improvement opportunities.

Education and Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience:3+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, woodworking, cabinetry, construction, or a related operational environment preferred. Previous experience training employees, coordinating workflow, or serving as a lead resource preferred.

  • Manufacturing / Production Environment – Roles in this environment involve regular exposure to a shop-floor or manufacturing setting. Work may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, or other physical activity for extended periods. Employees may frequently lift, move, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, or steel-toe footwear. The environment may include exposure to noise, dust, machinery, temperature variations, and other safety-sensitive conditions typical of a production facility.
