Vermont Precision Tools, Inc. (dba Vermont Gage) in Swanton, VT, seeks a 2nd shift Precision Metalworking Gage Handle Machine Operator.

You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC lathes, bar feed, facing and polishing equipment, and even 3D printing equipment to produce gage handles and accessories. Your responsibilities include producing quality handles to ASME B47.1 standards, interpreting work orders, detecting nonconformances, prepping aluminum stock, and ensuring proper packaging for

Qualifications

• Basic CNC terminology familiarity.
• Ability to read work orders and follow instructions.

Responsabilités

• Set up, operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and bar feed equipment.
• Polish and finish gage handles and accessories, including 3D printed components.
• Monitor conformance to work orders and adjust equipment to maintain production flow.
• Inspect in-process and final parts for visual and dimensional criteria.
• Prepare aluminum bar stock and assist with packaging and shipping readiness.

As a Gage Handle Machine Operator, in the Made to Order Value Stream, you will be trained and responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC lathes,bar feed, facing and polishing equipment, as well as 3D printing equipment in the production of gage handles and accessories.

Your job functions include:

• Producing quality handles, which meet established ASME B47.1 standard.
• Understanding of basic CNC programming to utilize existing programs for setting up production runs and making modifications as necessary.
• Monitoring part conformance based on work order instructions while adjusting manufacturing equipment accordingly to maintain production flow.
• Responsible for pulling and preparing aluminum bar stock for production.
• Responsible for wet belt sanding all handles and end caps.
• Will be required to inspect in-process products and final inspect for visual and dimensional criteria prior to and following the anodizing process.
• Perform packaging and administrative duties associated with preparation of products for shipping.
• Responsible for remaking and/or reworking products that do not meet required specifications.
• Responsible for maintaining quality production in accordance with company standards.
• Must maintain filtration system levels.
• Required to log out tooling and critical production supplies from tool crib.
• Will be required to input basic data entries using computer programs on daily basis.
