Job summary

Grover Corporation in Glendale, Wisconsin is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Operator – Entry Level. You will operate machining equipment to produce piston rings, follow traveler specifications, and perform multiple machining operations to tight tolerances.

You will inspect parts with micrometers and calipers, make minor machine adjustments, and log production data while maintaining a clean, safe work environment on a 10‑hour shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, comprehend and follow basic written or oral instructions.
• Knowledge of machining processes used in piston ring manufacturing.
• Knowledge of equipment and tooling used in piston ring machining.
• Knowledge of how to read a traveler.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality parts that meet company standards.
• Machine piston rings to proper dimensions to tolerance.
• Operate machinery following traveler specifications.
• Perform cutting, sanding, drilling, grinding and turning.
• Inspect finished products with micrometers and calipers.
• Make minor adjustments to machines to maintain quality.
• Complete first piece inspections and in-process checks.
• Perform pre-start machine inspections.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used and production steps.
• Log productivity using production software and clock in/out.
• Flex to other open machines as needed to meet production demands.
