Job summary

City of Lincoln is seeking a Powder Coating Technician for 2nd shift (7:00 PM–5:30 AM, Monday to Thursday) to apply powder coatings, inspect finishes, and maintain production quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work with the powder coating process, monitor viscosity, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of powder coating experience, a high school diploma, and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in powder coating.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong background in powder coating.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to work dependently.

Responsibilities

• Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application.
• Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections.
• Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout department.
• Ensure safety guidelines are being met to ensure a safe work environment.
• Good knowledge of the mechanics of powder coating process.
• Visually check finished items for runs, bare spots, proper coverage.
• Resolve technical problems and recommend production improvements.
• Actively participate in the specification training and documentation of powder coating process.
• Operates machines or equipment used in the powder coating process
• Observes machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards as necessary.
• Ability to train associates, write appropriate SOPs and adjust speed as necessary.
• Hands on preventative maintenance responsibilities.
• Function as a technical liaison to drive improvements and defect reduction/resolution.
