Job summary

Belden is seeking an experienced machine operator to operate and maintain plastic extrusion equipment on the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2pm–10pm). Starting pay is $23 per hour with a $0.50 shift differential. You will read specs, set up equipment, and monitor quality to keep products within spec.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in manufacturing, with plastics extrusion or injection molding experience preferred. Safety, lifting up to 50 lbs, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior plastics experience in extrusion or injection molding preferred.
  • Ability to read specifications using the computer system and hard copy.
  • Ability to measure product attributes as required by specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and follows Manufacturing Specification to determine machine set-up, materials required, and quantity to run.
  • Analyzes product attributes and determines process adjustments to bring product to spec in a continuous process with many variables.
  • Sets up and runs various auxiliary equipment as required.
  • Responsible for safety of self and others in their work area.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and production posting correctly.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
