Job summary

Lakeside Recruiting is seeking a 2nd Shift Plant Superintendent to direct production operations, personnel, and daily targets during the 2nd Shift. This senior role bridges floor technicians, leads, and upper plant management to ensure lines meet output goals while upholding safety and quality standards.

The successful candidate will bring 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, strong leadership, and a solid grasp of EHS policies to drive continuous improvement on the second shift.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
• High School Diploma or GED is the minimum requirement; higher education is preferred.
• Critical path problem-solving, strong verbal/written communication, and knowledge of EHS policies.

• Ensure manufactured goods meet quality specifications by monitoring performance to standard.
• Communicate KPIs, line status, and open issues to day-shift management and incoming teams.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and troubleshoot operational inefficiencies.

The 2nd Shift Plant Superintendent will direct all production operations, personnel, and daily targets during 2nd Shift. They will ensure production lines meet output goals while maintaining safety and quality standards. This senior role bridges the gap between floor technicians, leads, and upper plant management.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily production schedules, adjusts resources to meet product demand, and resolves equipment or staffing issues.
• Supervises, mentors, and evaluates shift technician leads, technicians, operators and inspectors.
• Conducts performance reviews, enforces safety protocols, and manages attendance.
• Ensure manufactured goods meet quality specifications, by monitoring employees' performance to standard.
• Communicates Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), line status, and open issues to day-shift management and incoming teams.
• Implements Lean Manufacturing principles and troubleshoots operational inefficiencies.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressive, directly related supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment (Casting/injection molding and/or machining experience is a plus)
• A High School Diploma or GED is the minimum requirement, although any higher education is preferred.
• Critical path problem-solving, strong verbal/written communication, and a working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies.
