Job summary

Actalent is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Fairfield, OH. You will support licensed pharmacists with prescription preparation, labeling, data entry, and inventory management in a compounding space.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to laws, and patient service, with a 2nd shift schedule (4pm–12am) and fully onsite work environment. Prior pharmacy experience and Ohio registration are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Registered or Certified Technician.
• Familiarity with pharmacy terminology and prescription abbreviations.
• Understanding of pharmacy laws and ethical standards.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Proficiency in basic math and pharmacy software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in filling prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Measure, count, and package medications per prescription guidelines.
• Affix labels with dosage instructions and safety warnings.
• Input prescription and patient data into pharmacy software systems.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for availability.
• Conduct inventory checks and rotate stock to prevent expiration.
• Dispose of expired or recalled products per regulations.
• Greet patients and respond to inquiries professionally.
• Assist with drop-off and pick-up processes for prescriptions.
• Perform routine checks on pharmacy equipment and storage conditions.
• Participate in quality control like expiration date monitoring and cleanliness.
• Support a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
