Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking a Packager to operate equipment, feed product, and pack items into pouches in a fast-paced food-manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 months of food manufacturing experience, the ability to count accurately, and follow safety procedures. This full-time, on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and regularity in a dynamic seafood processing environment.

Qualifications

• Three to six month food manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers.
• Ability to count by multiples 2s and 3s to place correct number of items into packages.

Responsibilities

• Tends machine(s) to feed product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices.
• Removes product from platforms/conveyors and packs into preformed pouches.
• Counts items packed to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Monitors product feed into pasteurizers.
• Places product on grill marker belt.
• Ensures product packages are placed on conveyor according to company standards.
• Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
• Removes irregular product and any foreign material found in product.
• Reports irregularities to the Quality Assurance Technician, Lead Person or Supervisor.
• Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety concerns.
• Uses personal protective gear PPE per company standards to ensure safe operation of machinery or tools, and safe use of chemical cleaning agents.
• Disassembles and reassembles the production line and equipment as necessary for cleaning.
• Cleans and Sanitizes production equipment, tools and work area per Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP)
