Job summary

Ryerson is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor for the 2nd shift to direct plant operations, including production equipment, shipping, receiving, and inventory control. You will lead a team, drive safety, and support quality goals.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1-3 years supervisory experience in metal processing or manufacturing, and willingness to learn SAP. Proficiency in MS Office tools is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED is required; College Education preferred.
• A minimum of one to three years supervisory experience, preferably in metal processing, warehouse, and/or manufacturing.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• The candidate should be willing to learn SAP and become proficient.

Responsibilities

• Directs the efficient function of plant operations on the 2nd shift.
• Leads production equipment, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.
• Provides coaching and performance feedback to direct reports.
• Participates in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensures compliance with ISO 9000 standards and company policies.
• Collaborates with other departments and locations as needed.
• Supports training and ensures completion of training checklists.
• Reviews inventory levels and communicates with purchasing when low.
