Job description

We are hiring a second Shift MIG Welder—production for our Jackson, IL location. The position starts at $21.25/hour plus an additional $2.50/hour shift differential. First Shift's hours are MONDAY - THURSDAY, 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with opportunities for overtime pay.

Job Description

Come join the MAT Industries Inc. team and work for a growing AIR CONDITIONED manufacturing company. Welder positions starting at $21.25/hour and higher based on your experience. In-person interviews for qualified candidates are taking place now!

MAT has an opening for 2nd SHIFT, which runs MONDAY - THURSDAY 3:30 pm to 2:00 am. Should overtime be available, it will be scheduled on Fridays. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance as well as paid vacation, sick days, and 8 paid holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Welding in a fast-paced assembly style environment.
  • MIG welding multiple attachments -12 gauge to .179" brackets and tubing.
  • Pass ASME Certification requiring 6" vertical down weld with full penetration on .094 material.
  • Follow all safety regulations and encourage co-workers to do the same.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding.
  • Conduct quality inspections of work.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance and safety concerns.
  • Assist in training of junior employees.
  • Actively participate in the development of a LEAN manufacturing culture.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Relevant experience in MIG welding and must pass on-site MIG weld test.
  • Be able to work as scheduled.
