Job summary

Generac is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician III for 2nd shift in Waukesha, WI. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and performing advanced tests of product designs under supervision, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and ISO 17025 compliance.

The position requires a High School Diploma and 5 years of relevant experience, with preferred certifications and hands-on capabilities in welding, sheet metal, and machine operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 5 years of relevant work experience in engineering testing or technicians roles.
• Preferred: UL/CSA/ASE certification, ISO training.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for defined criteria (mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical).
• Use measurement devices to capture data and validate results.
• Fabricate and assemble test equipment and prototypes per blueprints.
• Develop and validate bill of materials with Engineering.
• Validate testing methods and demonstrate ISO 17025 compliance.
• Maintain test documentation in database systems.
• Analyze data and prepare test reports.
• Assist with Lab audits and 5S programs.
• Update policies supporting continuous lab improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineers to plan testing requirements.
• Recommend lab equipment and facility needs.
• Mentor and train developing Technicians.
