Job summary

Jabil is opening a new manufacturing facility in Prince George, VA, to support the energy infrastructure sector. The Mechanical Assembler will build switch gear equipment for data centers, utilities, and industrial power applications in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

You will read and follow engineering drawings, perform subassembly work, and participate in quality checks with a team of skilled colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of manufacturing, assembly, production, or similar hands-on technical experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand assembly instructions, technical documentation, and visual work aids.
• Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools and material handling equipment.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows-based systems.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies, and finished products using hand tools, lifting equipment, and assembly documentation.
• Interpret and follow technical drawings, work instructions, visual aids, and verbal directions to ensure accurate assembly.
• Conduct in-process inspections and functional testing to verify product quality and workmanship.
• Utilize barcode scanners, torque tools, rivet guns, and other production equipment as required.
• Accurately track production progress and maintain required documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and delivery commitments.
• Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment by adhering to 5S and safety standards.
