Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. in Decatur, IL seeks a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to install, repair and rebuild machinery, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The role requires reading blueprints, welding, and maintaining hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

  • Must have a safe work history.
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED or equivalent of work experience.
  • Maintenance experience of 4 years or more in a factory setting and/or certificates from a trade school.
  • Must be able to wear safety goggles, heat gloves, hard hat and other PPE as required.
  • Must be able to provide a complete set of mechanical hand tools as required.
  • Must be available for overtime as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, layouts and diagrams and make sketches as needed.
  • Make repair parts and perform acetylene or electric welding and cutting operations.
  • Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform predictive / preventative maintenance including lubrication.
  • Train others as assigned.
  • Work safely with machinist tools and sharpen tools as needed.
  • Prepare reports and use a computer as assigned.
  • Paint, plumbing, clean up and other duties as assigned.

2nd Shift Mechanic

Mueller is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our brand new foundry in Decatur, IL. This work consists of the installation, repair, removal and rebuilding of the machinery, equipment, material handling equipment, company vehicles and the repairs of building and grounds. In this role we are offering a $5000 sign on bonus.

Job Duties
  • Read, interpret and work from blueprints, layouts, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams and make sketches and rough blueprints as needed.
  • Make repair parts as needed Layout, set up and perform all acetylene or electric welding and cutting operations.
  • Install, repair, maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform predictive / preventative maintenance operations as required including adding oil or grease as needed.
  • Train Others as assigned.
  • Work in a safe manner with all machinist tools and sharpen tools as needed.
  • Prepare reports and computer use as assigned.
  • Painting, plumbing, clean up and any other duties as assigned.

Salary/Pay Range

Salary/Pay Range: $15.00-$32.50 The compensation range above reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment as of the date of posting. Individual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the role, professional experience, job-related skills, achievements, and/or work location. The range listed is only one component of the total compensation package offered to candidates.
