Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Laborer with expertise in physically demanding tasks to join our team. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of our food manufacturing facility and involves strenuous activities that require the ability to handle heavy material. The Material Handler will maintain a safe and productive work environment while supporting the overall success of our food production processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely transport, lift, and move heavy bags, containers, and equipment used in food manufacturing processes, ensuring the proper handling of ingredients and materials.
  • Assist in various stages of food production, including ingredient preparation, mixing, packaging, and equipment setup and cleanup.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and protocols in a food manufacturing environment to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries. Promptly report safety concerns or incidents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in work areas, including proper disposal of waste materials, contributing to food safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in inventory control by accurately counting and recording materials, ingredients, and finished products as needed.
  • Participate in quality control procedures, including visual inspections and the removal of defective or non-compliant items from production lines.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to meet production goals and standards.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors and team members, reporting progress, challenges, and potential improvements.
  • Comply with all established facility GMP, PPE and sanitation requirements.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned by their direct Supervisor, Manager or other authorized member of Management.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and loud noises from machinery and equipment alarms. The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises and alarms from equipment and machinery.
