A leading local manufacturing company in Tallahassee is seeking a Materials Handler to support warehouse and production operations. This role involves the timely and accurate movement of materials within the warehouse, production floor, and external raw material locations. Key responsibilities include inventory consolidation, picking/packing, stock replenishment, unloading deliveries, and handling shipments through various carriers including UPS, DHL, FedEx, and LTL freight.
Maintain accurate inventory control and track material movement.
Distribute raw materials to the manufacturing floor as needed.
Follow FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures and conduct cycle counts.
Coordinate material transportation with third-party logistics providers, including rail carriers.
Receive, package, and ship orders via standard and expedited methods.
Keep the workplace clean, safe, and organized at all times.
Adhere to quality standards, procedures, and environmental guidelines to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction.
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1–3 months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1+ year of experience operating forklifts or lift trucks.
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
Ability to pass a vision screening for the safe operation of powered industrial vehicles.
2+ years of warehouse or materials handling experience.
Familiarity with inventory management in ERP systems.
Experience using handheld scanners.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
