Job summary

Greif is seeking a 2nd Shift Material Handler in Kernersville. You will assist with wrapping, labeling, and moving products, operate a lift truck, and help maintain a clean production line while learning additional roles to cover vacancies.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, willingness to develop skills, and ability to lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly (30 pounds occasionally) in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience preferred.
• Must be willing to advance in skills and knowledge.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to follow work instructions.
• Mechanical skills a plus.
• Physically able to lift up to 20 lbs repetitively, 30 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assists with wrapping and labeling product as needed.
• Removes debris generated in the paper recycling process.
• Operates lift truck as necessary; perform safety checks.
• Completes tasks including pushing racks of product by hand and operating stretch wrap machinery.
• Learns other production jobs to fill vacancies during vacations or off days.
• Assists with maintenance of equipment as necessary.
• Maintains good housekeeping on the line and area.

Job Description

Primary Accountabilities

• Assists with wrapping and labeling product as needed.
• Removes debris generated in the paper recycling process.
• Operates lift truck as necessary. Perform lift truck safety check to ensure proper lift equipment operation.
• Completes various duties including pushing racks of product by hand, operating stretch wrap machinery, daily housekeeping, etc.
• Learns other production jobs in order to fill temporary vacancies of regular workers during vacation, off days, etc.
• Assists operators with the maintenance of equipment as necessary.
• Maintains good housekeeping on line by sweeping work area, clearing waste/debris.
• All other duties as assigned.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $17.55 - $28.03 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between 19.57 to 19.57. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
