Job summary

Opus Packaging – Caledonia, MI is seeking a 2nd Shift Material Handler to support our packaging operations. The role includes operating a forklift, managing material flow, and maintaining accuracy of shipping documents in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The position offers a 2nd shift with a premium and a 4-day work week; preferred candidates have prior warehouse or forklift experience and are comfortable working in a production setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment.
• Previous Forklift or Powered Industrial Truck Experience
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required for specific jobs.

Responsibilities

• Operate Powered Industrial Truck equipped with lifting devices to lift, tier and load product into trailers or bins.
• Ensure the smooth flow of materials to various departments on the production floor.
• Operate a Powered Industrial Truck in a safe manner, following all rules and regulations that are set forth.
• Ensure loads are stacked properly for safe transportation.
• Be accountable for accuracy of shipping documents and verify that trailers are properly loaded while communicating with a supervisor about any discrepancies relating to orders.
